LIS Expands Its Portfolio with Additional AI Features Along the Process Chain

LIS Logistische Informationssysteme GmbH is consistently expanding the use of artificial intelligence in its software solutions. At LogiMAT 2026, the company will introduce several new AI features that will be used in both the WinSped Transport Management System (TMS) and the LIS Warehouse Management (LWM) system. The goal is to specifically streamline operational processes in transportation and warehousing through automated data collection, intelligent information access, and continuous data verification, thereby accelerating decision-making processes.

“We don’t integrate AI on a case-by-case basis, but rather throughout the entire process chain: from order entry through planning to warehouse operations,” says Rob Schreurs, co-CEO of LIS, adding: “Our goal is to increase transparency regarding processes and data and to ensure the quality of information across all systems. “For us, AI is a tool that must provide tangible support in everyday work.”

AI in Order Entry

One area of application is order entry in transportation management. In the web-based TMS WinSped Web, optical character recognition (OCR) enables the automatic capture of orders from PDF documents, scanned documents, or handwritten notes. The built-in AI, based on ChatGPT, analyzes content in just a few seconds and creates structured tasks in the system—in multiple languages and without any prior training.

Voice-Based Access to Warehouse Data

Artificial intelligence will also be used directly in day-to-day work at LWM in the future. A new assistance feature allows users to query inventory, transaction data, or order information via text input or voice commands using natural language. The AI accesses live data and stored documentation to provide context-sensitive answers in real time. This multilingual solution also requires no training and is designed specifically to support control centers, warehouse management, and operational staff. In addition to standard queries, simple ad hoc analyses are also possible.

Data Quality and Early Risk Detection

In addition, LIS is enhancing WinSped with an AI-powered anomaly detection feature. It analyzes orders and master data in real time, reconciles historical transaction and order data, and detects unusual deviations in volume or structure at an early stage. Anomalies are automatically reported, allowing potential errors or risks to be identified more quickly. The goal is to improve data quality and enhance process reliability in transportation management.

These new features are just the first steps toward AI-powered solutions at LIS: The company is consistently continuing to develop innovative applications and will introduce additional smart features over the course of the year.
