With the introduction of SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language), your employees will only need to log in once—directly from their own computers. Everything else happens automatically in the background: You will be logged in to Citrix and WinSped automatically. No more passwords, no additional login screens, no waiting.
The principle behind this is called Single Sign-On (SSO): Sign on once—and get started right away.
How does that work technically?
SAML is a well-established, open standard for the secure exchange of authentication and authorization information between an identity provider (typically the customer’s central user management system, such as Active Directory) and a service provider—in this case, our applications. When an employee logs in to their computer, the identity provider confirms this login to our systems with a digital signature. The website and WinSped rely on this confirmation and open without requiring you to enter another password.
Who can use SAML?
The good news: SAML and single sign-on are not limited to customers hosted in the LIS data center. Even if your systems are operated differently, you can still benefit from this convenient and secure login process. However, implementation goes particularly smoothly and requires the least amount of setup work when carried out in conjunction with the LIS data center, since the technical requirements there are already optimally coordinated.
