More time for the important decisions: LIS Unveils New AI Assistant for Dispatching at IAA TRANSPORTATION

More room for complex decisions: Artificial intelligence takes over repetitive tasks, giving dispatchers more time to focus on what matters most. LIS Logistische Informationssysteme GmbH will demonstrate how this potential can be harnessed in practice at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026. The highlight of the trade show presentation is the new LIS Smart Assistant (LISA) for the WinSped Transport Management System (TMS). The AI-powered assistance solution automates time-consuming manual tasks in scheduling and frees up time for tasks that require experience and expertise. The trade show presentation is complemented by new AI features for WinSped Web, which further simplify day-to-day work.

The assistant solution integrates artificial intelligence directly into WinSped Web—without the need for a separate system or extensive training. “In the future, users will be able to communicate with LISA simply via chat or voice,” says Rolf Hansmann, co-CEO of LIS Logistische Informationssysteme GmbH. Until now, dispatchers have had to perform many repetitive tasks in addition to their actual duties. With the LIS Smart Assistant, LIS automates these processes and frees up time for making complex decisions.

Using artificial intelligence, the assistant identifies patterns in existing workflows and historical data, generates route suggestions based on this information, consolidates transport orders, and handles preparatory scheduling tasks. “This generates well-founded suggestions in a matter of seconds. These suggestions would otherwise have to be developed manually, a time-consuming process,” says Rolf Hansmann. Control always remains in human hands: Suggested actions are carried out only after confirmation by the dispatcher.

Better data quality through less manual work: New AI Features for WinSped Web

In addition to the Smart Assistant, LIS has made significant improvements to WinSped Web itself: The web-based TMS now processes data faster, displays even large amounts of data smoothly, and handles high order volumes efficiently. As a result, users benefit from a noticeably smoother workflow, especially during peak periods with a high number of orders.

LIS offers additional features to make day-to-day work easier, for example, in order processing: The automatic capture of shipping orders from PDF documents, scanned documents, emails, or handwritten notes virtually eliminates the need for manual data entry. The integrated AI, based on ChatGPT, analyzes document content in a matter of seconds, identifies the relevant information, and automatically creates structured, multilingual shipping orders in the system without any prior training. This significantly reduces data entry errors, shortens processing times, and noticeably speeds up the entire order fulfillment process.

LIS will also rely on artificial intelligence in the future when assigning documents to existing orders: With the new AI Dropzone in WinSped’s document management system (DMS), all you need to do is use drag- & -drop to upload a loading slip, proof-of-delivery receipt, delivery slip, or any other document. The AI – connected via the OpenAI API – identifies the document type, extracts the relevant information, and automatically assigns the document to the appropriate order. This largely eliminates the need to search manually for the right order: Customers save time in their day-to-day operations and benefit from a more streamlined workflow.

The portfolio is complemented by an AI-powered anomaly detection feature. It analyzes order data, billing data, etc., in real time, detects unusual discrepancies early on, and thus effectively protects customers from errors before they become operational issues. The result: higher data quality and greater process reliability in day-to-day operations.

“Digitalization in transportation logistics is advancing rapidly,” says Rolf Hansmann. “That’s why we are continuously investing in the further development of WinSped.”

Interested visitors can experience the LIS Smart Assistant (LISA) and the new AI features in WinSped Web firsthand at the LIS booth in Hall 25, stand C65 , during IAA TRANSPORTATION from September 15 to 20, 2026.
