Finally at a trade fair again: After a one year corona-related break and months of contact restrictions, the NUFAM in Karlsruhe finally takes place again. From 30 September to 3 October, manufacturers, dealers and service providers will once again come together to discuss the future of the commercial vehicle industry. And LIS is on site with two innovations: On the one hand, we will present the integrated automatic route planning and, on the other hand, the new cloud service Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). The former is a new module that forms optimized combinations of orders, vehicles and routes and which, thanks to the latter – the new cloud service – can be flexibly subscribed to and operated via the Internet just like the rest of WinSped.
Our new Cloud Services
As the Corona pandemic in the past year and a half has caused many contacts to be restricted and processes to become more digital, location-independent working has become increasingly important. With our neuen Cloud-Dienstleistung SaaS, forwarders and shipping agents can use WinSped in a subscription model. The only thing they need is an internet connection. In this way, not only are the acquisition costs eliminated, but our customers also enjoy a high level of data security, better scalability and therefore financial flexibility – because we take care of hosting the application, including the storage of data, in our new computing center. “Thanks to the LIS Cloud, our customers gain more resilience to external impacts such as a pandemic,” says our CEO Magnus Wagner.
Optimizing tours made easy
Tour planning is a time-consuming job. Checking availabilities, planning trucks and figuring out routes. All this can be easily automated with our second innovation. With the integrated automatic route planning, which was developed in cooperation with flexis AG and the PTV Group, Karlsruhe, a large number of shipments can be distributed to the available vehicles simply by pressing a button. Mathematical algorithms calculate an optimized combination of orders, trucks and routes – under predefined conditions and resources. This not only increases the efficiency of the means of transport used, but also reduces the total number of kilometres and thus logistics and transport costs thanks to better capacity utilisation. Wagner points out: “Our new tool has a direct positive impact not only on profitability, but also on user sustainability.” Since the beginning of the year, the systems of flexis AG and PTV have been delivering the pre-planned tours to our customers via online interfaces to our TMS WinSped.
