LIS cooperates with eleven other software providers for uninterrupted digital data flow

With the aim of creating the prerequisites for a continuous data stream, twelve well-known software manufacturers have joined forces – including LIS AG. Under the umbrella of LOGENIOS eG, the companies want to use a common data routing platform to develop generic interfaces for incompatible systems. In the future, these interfaces, which have been missing until now, should guarantee a cross-company, trouble-free data flow along the entire supply chain.
Until now, data exchange between freight forwarder and carrier has often been difficult because their IT systems work with different data formats. Instead of communicating digitally with each other, consignment and status information on the flow of goods has to be transmitted in some cases by fax, e-mail or telephone. In these cases, processes are often duplicated. This results in time and financial losses. A situation that the Spedion managing directors and initiators of the merger Wolfram Grohse and Günter Englert no longer wanted to accept. LIS board member Magnus Wagner was also immediately convinced of the idea: “Digitisation in the logistics sector is in full swing. What regularly throws us back, however, are IT systems that are not coordinated with each other. Instead of playing against each other, we should cooperate here and sustainably improve the workflow of the logistics providers with our joint know-how.
