Bye bye 2021!

Bye bye 2021!

Last December, we wanted to “erase” the previous year. Off to the wastepaper basket, irrevocably. Today we can look to the future with a little more confidence, but there is no getting around a reboot – or should we say re-boost. A reboot with the latest updates against the malware. But it was not all bad in the past twelve months. We were also able to celebrate one or two highlights in 2021. A brief review:

New data centre inaugurated

In January, we completed the construction work on our new data centre. Thanks to the larger space at the headquarters in Greven with a total of ten new servers, it is possible for us to react to the increased demand from customers for an online application of WinSped. The cloud solution enables hauliers and shippers to plan and track their tours regardless of location. Over 100 companies are already using the LIS Cloud.

Record-breaking staff numbers

This year, we increased our staff by a total of 33 new colleagues and thus exceeded the 200-employee mark for the first time. That is a growth of no less than 19 percent. We are delighted that so many talented people have chosen us as their employer.

Integrated Automatic Route Planning launched

In March, we launched the integrated automatic route optimisation. This new function of the WinSped module Graphic Planning (GD) makes it possible to distribute a large number of consignments to the available vehicles at the push of a button and thus significantly accelerate route planning. Mathematical algorithms are used to calculate an optimised combination of orders, vehicles and routes, taking into account resources and defined conditions. For this additional service, we have joined forces with flexis AG and the PTV Group, Karlsruhe. Both partners have decades of industry expertise and are experts in the field of route planning and optimisation.

New Work introduced

We have entered new ground in terms of flexible working: Even after the “end of the pandemic”, which still seems to be in the distant future, we will not simply return to the classic office routine. In the future, it will be largely up to our employees – regardless of national obligations about working from home – to decide in agreement with their respective supervisor whether they work from home or from the company headquarters. There is no longer a general obligation to be present in the office. Our board member Magnus Wagner thinks: “We should learn from the crisis period and make the job more flexible while maintaining the same output and not just put everything on ‘return’.”

First Scandinavian customer onboard

Our fifth foreign subsidiary, LIS Scandinavia ApS in Hundested, Denmark, which was only established in 2020, has gained a real big player – the logistics company Bring Cargo International – as a user. From now on, the subsidiary of Posten Norge AS will use WinSped to handle its European full-load, partial-load and general cargo transports. And we are happy about our continued international growth!

2022 – Outlook

All these great highlights let us look forward to the next year with confidence, despite the pandemic. With such loyal customers, partners and employees at our side, we are also mastering the third Covid year. In that sense: Many thanks to all stakeholders for the trust they have placed in us! Spend a peaceful, reflective holiday season – hopefully with your loved ones – and have a good start to the New Year!
