BAM data 2021 expected to be available from January

It is almost that time again. Next year, 2021, the new regulations for dangerous goods transports will apply. The German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin recently sent us the current, official data stock of dangerous goods as part of the dangerous goods data service. The following modes of transport are supported:

  • Road (ADR)
  • Rail (RID)
  • Sea (IMDG)
  • Air (ICAO)
  • Inland waters (ADN)

It is already a well-established tradition that LIS AG will provide its customers with the BAM data for WinSped in time for the coming year. The update is expected to be available at the beginning of January 2021. This should then be imported by the end of the transition period at the end of June 2021. Our customer service will be happy to answer any questions regarding the update.

Use of the BAM data

With the BAM data, the user can, for example, easily and simply find out which dangerous goods must be labelled with which UN number and which special features must be taken into consideration during transport. The BAM catalogue can be added to the WinSped dangerous goods module as an option and renders the manual entry of dangerous goods (UN numbers) obsolete. LIS customers who already have access to the BAM data can update the data records with a few clicks. WinSped users who want to access this for the first time must first be licensed by LIS. Then the data must be imported and the configuration must be adapted. “The effort in this case is also very moderate. The benefit, on the other hand, is significant,” says LIS product expert Thomas Meyer.
