After a long waiting period the change to the funding guideline has now been published according to which the upper funding limit per eligible vehicle has been raised from €1,400 to €2,000. In any case a requirement of the Federal Ministry of Finance states that 100% funding is not permitted because there is an “economic self interest” of the applicant. Therefore the funding is limited to 90% of the proven costs. In a concrete case this means that €2,222 in fundable measures must be proven per vehicle, in order that the net sum of €2,000 per vehicle can be completely distributed. Unfortunately it was not possible to double the current upper funding limit of €33,000 per company to €66,000, as the Federal Office for Goods Transport [BAG – Bundesamt für Güterverkehr] in the road haulage act [GüKG – Güterkraftverkehrsgesetz] did not have the formal authority to process funding applications from this EU special programme. The Federal Office for Goods Transport will refer to the changed funding conditions in the authorisation of de minimis measures. Until now in any case only a few de minimis applications have been provided with a notification. The holders of these notifications will be given the choice in writing to retain the previous funding notification and 100% funding on the basis of an upper vehicle funding of €1,400 or enforce a 90% funding according to the new conditions of €2,222/vehicle. The companies will hereby have to answer a form letter from the Federal Office for Goods Transport.
The deadline for de minimis applications will be extended until 30.06.2010. Thereby please note that the “first come, first served” process still applies. A late application for funds can therefore lead to the application being refused. Blank application forms with the new submission date are, however, not yet available on the Federal Office for Goods Transport website (<link http://www.bag.bund.de/>www.bag.bund.de
).

The trade show visitors included hauliers and companies from the shipping industry, the majority of who were looking for a telematics system, but also of course companies who wanted to find out about the optimisations and new developments of current suppliers.

Developments in more user friendliness, easier operation, continuous service and also more compact telematics devices for the vehicles are the trends of the market.
Between 2nd and 4th March, the renowned LogiMAT trade fair took place at the Stuttgart exhibition centre. Here’s a recap…

Visitors took a vested interest in the new product lines built around the WinSped transport management software this year as well. The LIS sales team was excited as much about interesting new contacts as about the visit of existing ones, who made enquiries about our new developments and about conclusion of contracts at the trade fair stand.
A special thank you should at this point go to our development department and to our customer manager, the praise of whom we were delighted to receive from our existing customers and then pass on.

Our trade fair stand also saw a great deal of interest from our competitors’ customers, who once again confirmed to us that we are miles ahead of the competition with our solutions. We always love facing comparison and are available for a live presentation. Huge advantages were identified in CRM, web applications and also in dispatching with telematic links in particular. With WinSped, you obtain an overall solution for logistical processes and errors such as false km calculations or defective actual data belong to the past.

Visit us at the T-Matik telematics trade fair on the 19th May in Greven or at the IAA Hannover in September and contact Mrs. Annegret Schanz (
) to arrange a meeting.
Phone: +49 2571 929 254

The LIS sales team is delighted to be available for meetings in person at your place of business for all potential and existing customers.
Salih Cil
Wirtsch.-Inf.
Integrated maps and distance tables in WinSped

“Cobbler, stick to your trade,” is the motto of the leading software company for transport management software, LIS AG, regarding the frequently raised issue of programming special functions yourself or integrating existing reliable systems.

In order to leave all options open to customers regarding this question, LIS AG is implementing standard interfaces and standard products in the transport management software WinSped. There are examples for various software areas concerning this:

Financial accounting:
The WinSped standard FiBu interface is currently connected to over 30 financial accounting systems.

Telematics:
As far as this issue is concerned, there are very easy as well as very sophisticated solutions to approx. 30 telematics systems for all kinds of company sizes and scopes of services.

Archiving:
Partner firms on the market closely observe the statutory regulations in this area and the documents are correspondingly stored and filed.
A recurring topic is the issue of whether people should program the map display and the distance calculation themselves or whether they should resort to existing solutions. In a professional logistics software system, map displays and km calculations are essential and must be completely reliable. De facto standards such as Map24 or Map & Guide are consulted for bills between the parties concerned. In such cases it is usually not a good idea to propose other km bases for calculations to the transporter or the contracting body.
There is also a clear company philosophy on this. Regardless of whether the customer would like to have Map24, Map&Guide, Mappoint or other maps integrated, WinSped provides the best solutions.
At this year’s LogiMAT in Stuttgart we will be happy to show you the functions which represent a mixture of various suppliers, for example, telematics and map suppliers (target/actual comparison of routes in the WinSped disposition).
Visit us from 02 - 04 March 2010 in hall 5, booth 133 and speak to Ms Annegret Schanz to make an appointment.
Tel.: +49 2571 929 254
Mail:

Automatic recording of idle time

With the automatic idle time recording in WinSped, lorries no longer sit free of charge in the loading platforms.

Hours of idle time in loading platforms cost transporters a lot of money. However, without any written proof, they are lacking an important argument in the contract negotiations.

We have a solution to this: automatic idle time recording
This device’s mode of operation leaves nothing to be desired. Firstly, the transporter defines the agreed idle time for the loading and unloading, free of charge and for each customer; as well as the rates for the additional time. WinSped receives messages via almost all telematic systems when the vehicle has reached the customer. The idle time can therefore be calculated automatically. Optional, automatic information sent to the customer avoids the driver entering into idle time which is subject to a charge. He automatically receives a generated e-mail which reminds him that the agreed idle time of 30 minutes, for example, is running out. Before the customer receives the bill, the employee can intervene by making corrections such as changing amounts or times in a clearly arranged list.

The in-house exhibition greatly appealed to LIS customers again this year

The LIS in-house exhibition took place again this year on Sept. 22 with approx.150 regular customers from all federal territories.
LIS AG primarily presented the areas of further developments in WinSped and NetSped as well as topics like ATLAS, ADR2009 and its own document management system.
„From order generation using inter module transactions to automatic route planning, development of ATLAS or the integration of ADR and DMS, we demonstrated how we convert ideas into software functionality. Our customers, whom we manage in different branches of transport procedures, profit from these ideas. An additional topic that was conveyed to our customers was the innovative changes that are being realized in WinSped“, according to Volker Luekemeier, Executive Board Member.
Thanks to the central location for the event (Muenster-Osnabrueck Airport, with its conference room containing technologically modern conference rooms) the exhibition was able to ensure the attendance of customers from neighbouring countries.
Only one day after the in-house exhibition about the presented modules the success was clear to see and thus is also the best indication of the success of the in-house exhibition.
The LIS team would be pleased to make an appointment with all the interested customers who did not make it to the exhibition in Greven this year.
Salih Cil
Wirtsch.-Inf.
Vertriebsleitung Süd
Mail:
